folie and Savee

Checked 4 October 2026

Savee is a paid inspiration library for designers. You save images from the web into boards, with extensions for every major browser and apps for iOS and Android.

folie is a Mac app you pay for once. It keeps your own screenshots of interface design on your disk, filed by component, style, typefaces and colours.

Where Savee is better

folie is Mac only, has no phone app, does not sync between machines, and needs either your own Claude API key (about a tenth of a cent a capture) or a model running on your Mac.

Where folie is different

Which one to pick

If you work in a team, live in Figma, or save from your phone, Savee does more. If you work alone on a Mac and are tired of paying monthly to keep screenshots, folie.

Questions

Does folie have a subscription?

No. One payment, every update included, and a 14-day refund.

Does folie work in Safari?

folie captures from any app, Safari included. The optional extension that reads a page's real fonts works in Chrome, Arc, Brave and Edge, not Safari. Without it, folie guesses the fonts from the image and says so.
